Fear Factor: The Wizards Addition

 

            Hello and welcome to Fear Factor where ‘fear is not a factor,’ I’m your host Albus Dumbledore. On this edition of ‘Fear Factor: Wizards Addition’ we have three death-defying events so let us begin the show. Our contestants for today are Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Cho Chang, and Cedric Diggory. 

            Now for the first task, the contestants must shoot arrows onto a target. Now for the ‘Fear Factor’ twist, there will also be scorpions attached to the end of the arrow. The 5 contestants to get their arrows closest to the target will move on to the next round. The ‘Goblet of Fire’ has now chosen names randomly to determine the order and Draco you are up first. Draco walks up to the station proudly and with a steady pace. He is handed the arrow and tries to hide his disgust but the others sense it. But suddenly, the scorpion drops off the arrow and lands on the ground. He must not have been attached properly. The scorpion begins to make its way towards Draco. And the frightened blonde cannot hold it in any longer. He runs off the set, grabs his broom, jumps on, and flies away in terror. Meanwhile, all of the other contestants and I are giggling uncontrollably. So it seems that Draco is automatically out. Now the rest of the round goes smoothly enough and when everyone has gone it is announced that Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and Cedric move on to the next round. Cho and Ron are forced to make the ‘walk of shame’ to their brooms and ride of into the distance as failures.

            The contestants gather the following day for the second event. Today they will be timed to see who can transfer as many eels from one tank to the next. The eels were enchanted to have more voltage then normal for an extra electrifying shock. Once again the ‘Goblet of Fire’ has chosen names randomly to determine the order the contestants are to compete in and Harry is lucky number 1. He walks up to the tank in partial fear and partial confidence. Hermione frightened for him and Ginny looking curiously. Harry completes the task with a jaw dropping time. Next up is Ginny. She hesitantly starts the task and completes it fairly well. She once again surprises her peers at how much ability she really has. Cedric is the next contestant to transfer eels. He does quite well and ties for first place with Harry. Now it is time for Hermione. She hesitates to walk up and finally starts shaking her head. She has refused to try the task and following the rules has quit. Hermione walks away to her broom and once she is on the brainy girl waves at her best friend Harry and rides her broom off in confidence from what she had decided.

             And finally, you all know what time it is now. It is time for the third and final event. The one event that will see who is the ‘Fear Factor Champion’ and will be added into our ‘Fear Factor Hall of Fame’ for all to see. And for today’s task, the contestants must shoot pebbles into a glass frame with numbers drawn on it to determine how many ingredients of their ‘Mystery Shakes’ they will get to select. They will then go head-to-head in a race to see who will win and become the next ‘Fear Factor Champion.’ Now Harry is once again up first; chosen by the ‘Goblet of Fire.’ He steps up to the mat and picks up his ammunition and weapon. He aims and fires. Harry repeats these steps the given three times and hits these three numbers: 1,3,0. He then steps aside for Cedric to have his turn. He hits the following three numbers: 2, 1, 1. Lastly, it is Ginny’s turn. With a struggle in strength she hits these three numbers: 1, 0, 0.

            All three finalists walk over to the bar where the ingredients have been laid out for the ‘Mystery Shakes.’ Cedric has the chance to choose first because he has the most ingredients to choose. He chooses: a raw egg, fish guts, shredded pork, and egg nogg. Now it is Ginny’s turn. But the catch is she cannot pick any of the same items. A look of shock appears on all three of the finalists’ faces. A satisfied Cedric, an angry Harry, and a frightened Ginny. Ginny chooses blue cheese and the rest of the shake will remain a secret until she devours it. It is now Harry’s turn and he chooses octopi, cow parts, fish heads, and shredded bark.

            The finalists take their drinks and prepare to devour them. After one whiff they all almost faint but gather the strength to give it a try. The clock starts and Harry, Ginny, and Cedric take their first gulps. Ginny takes one taste of the conception and immediately spits it out; she is disqualified. Harry and Cedric race to finish first. Half way through, Harry is obviously running into problems and is struggling to keep in the challenge. He seems to be fighting his own self to find the strength and courage to continue and to win. But it is a hard fight and eventually Harry is taken over by the feeling of disgust, pain, and afterwards failure. He threw up all of the ‘Mystery Shake’ in a horrifying way. So this time Harry has lost and Cedric is the champion. Cedric finishes up his drink, wipes his mouth, and walks up to receive his recognition. He has a huge smile on his face and is proud of finally receiving an award. Cedric Diggory, it is evident that fear is not a factor for you! And at that Cedric thrusts his hands up in the air and shouts a loud roar of victory. You would think he was a Gryffindor and not the humble Hufflepuff that he is. His father, girlfriend, peers, and Head of House will be proud!

            And so finishes another episode of ‘Fear Factor: Wizards Edition.’ Stay tuned to the next episode and see who comes out victorious when Gryffindors go head-to-head.
